Salbutamol, Ambroxol HCL and Guaifenesin Syrup come with the branding “KORF -AM” and are a combination of medicines used for coughs with mucus. Coughing happens when your body tries to clear out stuff like dust or mucus from your throat. There are two kinds of coughs: dry and chesty. A dry cough feels scratchy and doesn’t bring up thick mucus, while a chesty cough produces mucus to clear your throat.
Salbutamol, Ambroxol HCL and Guaifenesin Syrup contain three drugs: Ambroxol, Guaifenesin, and Salbutamol. Ambroxol helps bring up mucus and makes it less thick so you can breathe easier. Salbutamol helps widen and relax your airways in the lungs. Guaifenesin also helps bring up mucus by thinning it out and making it easier to cough up.
Medical Benefits
- Ambroxol is an ‘expectorant’ and a ‘mucolytic agent’, It promotes the secretion of sputum/cough and is a ‘mucolytic agent’ that makes sputum less viscous to make breathing easier.
- Being an expectorant, Guaifenesin reduces the thickness or viscosity of bronchial secretions (phlegm) and increases mucus flow making it easier to cough.
- Salbutamol belongs to the class of ‘bronchodilators’. It widens and relaxes the airways (bronchi) of the lungs.
